Stupidity comes with a price

I got a dumb story to tell about that one time I tried to jack up my car to put on a mudguard. I used a floor jack with a hockey puck thinking it will be fine. it turns out, I totally missed the car's specific jack point. long story short, the trim got pushed out amd bent some stuff near the front wheel and the running board. It looked okay at first, but then I saw the damage!

Took it to the dealer, they said to go to a body shop so I did. and the estimate? it's a whopping $2200! Honestly I'm not sure I can trust myself to jack up my front left tire again or do anything to it. I just might just let the shop do it. Don't make the same mistake it's too pricey!

$2200 for that? Damn. But you're definitely not alone for sure, since its very easy to misjudge jack points, especialy on modern cars with sensitive trim. If you ever decide to try again tho, better invest in jack pads made for your specific model and double check the jack point in the manual. It's pricey damage, but at least now you know what to avoid next time. Dont be too hard on yourself

Man, that's just so frustrating. Same feeling with all the other people who replied here. Funnily enough I did something real similar on my old Accord and yeah, body shop bills don't mess around.
